Caribou Lodge is located on a remote lake above timberline in the Talkeetna Mountains just southeast of Denali National Park and is closer to Denali than the park headquarters or entrance. Nature and tranquility are our only neighbors. The location is our home year around and a private paradise in the Alaskan wilderness or "The Bush," as it is known to Alaskans. The lodge offers fantastic views of Denali and the Alaskan Range to the west and to the east overlooking the lake, stands the beautiful Talkeetna Mountains. Wildlife abounds in the area. Caribou, moose, grizzly bears, sheep, black bears, wolves, coyotes, fox, wolverine, ermine, otters, eagles, short-eared owls, ptarmigan, ducks, loons, Canadian geese, and swans have all been observed from the comfort of the lodge and the cabins. Wildflowers abound mid June through August. The many berries come ripe in July. The long days of summer bring awesome sunrises and the tranquility of the Midnight Sun as it slips behind Denali is a sight to behold.

A small and personal operation without the crowds, Caribou Lodge offers a relaxed learning experience with an Alaskan wilderness family.

Welcome to the Kantishna Roadhouse, a full-service lodge located deep in the heart of Alaska's majestic Denali National Park & Preserve.

We invite you to spend your Alaskan Vacation viewing Denali National Park’s wildlife and breathtaking wilderness while relaxing in our beautiful lodge. The Kantishna Roadhouse located deep in the heart of Denali Park, features deluxe rustic cabin accommodations, all meals and snacks during your stay, abundant daily guided (and self guided) activities, and hosted evening naturalist programs. The lodge grounds also boast ample space to find either solitude or adventure.

The Kantishna Roadhouse has a longstanding Alaskan tradition of hospitality. The original roadhouse at Kantishna was built in the early 1900s, serving as a private residence, a community center, a post office, and informal accommodations for those who came visiting in Kantishna in Denali Park. Many nights were spent spinning tales of the trail over a hot cup of coffee and a hearty meal. You can still see the old log structure and other remnants of the past at the back of our property.
